Replacing Stock Pulleys With Jet Underdrive Pulleys
November 5th, 2010 by Dan
While looking to squeeze every inch of horsepower out of my small block Chevy 350, the next step was to replace the stock pulleys with JET underdrive pulleys (JET90105), which puts less strain on the crank and releases an easy 10 to 15 horsepower. While changing the pulleys, I decided to dump my stock mechanical fan for a dual electrical fan setup, which added another 10 to 15 horsepower gain! A great benefit from this upgrade was the ability to switch off the fans on a deep river crossing, which keeps the fans from spraying water on your electrical components or your alternator! The fans also proved to be beneficial in bumper-to-bumper city traffic by keeping the engine temperature at bay.
