Hella Headlight Conversion Kit Review

I have tried a couple of different housing kits on my car and the Hella headlight conversion kit is by far the best one out there. The last few I tried were good, but the issue I had with them is that the lens was made from plastic. I loved the fact that they were a diamond cut back, but something on the road usually jumped up and damaged them.

The Hella kit is actually made out of heavy-duty glass. It also comes with new bulbs, which is a plus. This is a great product for those that have a seal H4 beam vehicle and want to be able to use higher wattage bulbs.

When it comes to headlights, people always say HID is the way to go. There are a lot of different aftermarket companies that now sell upgrade kits for your truck ranging from $50-$100. Some of the guys here at work have bought some of those kits and they look and work great, but I decided not to go in that direction.

The 5.7 Hemi, named after its hemisphere-shaped combustion chambers, has been Dodge’s go-to motor since the 1960s, has been used in NASCAR, and has been modified and developed all the way through today. The newer trucks with the 5.7 have PVC, which sends any unburned gas from the crankcase back into the throttle body and can cause minor horsepower loss and sludge buildup.

Dee Zee Rear Heavy Duty Floor Mat Review

Another accessory that my 2004 Toyota Tacoma extended cab could not go without (since it is a utility truck) is a rear heavy-duty floor mat. The Dee Zee floor mat is a universal mat, but it fits like a glove. Plus, it handles well in all four seasons. I have had it since I have owned my truck and it still looks good, even after going through abuse, dirt, mud, and tools. I deal for the carpenter outdoorsman.

SuperChips Programmer Product Review

Superchips makes a great programmer. It is a little bulky but it doesn’t really matter because once you install it, you can just put it away. That is the only bad thing I can say about this product; other than that it is a great unit.

I like the fact that it has a big display screen. I have seen different programmers and their displays are very small. It is not complicated at all to install either. You decide if you want to make changes to your truck or not.

Ryan Installs King Shocks & a Front Suspension System on His F-150

The Fat City pre-runner got Deaver leaf springs and King Shocks triple by-pass shocks in the rear a while ago. We decided it was time to help the front keep up with the rear when off-road.

Because of time restrictions, I wanted to use as many bolt-on parts as I could find. I went with the H&M A-arm front suspension. They make all of their parts from chromoly plating, which is a lot stronger than regular mild steel. The last thing I need is to be stuck in the middle of Mexico with broken parts.

Dave Upgraded to American Racing Wheels for His Toyota Tundra

Choosing the wheel that’s right for you is not easy. There are so many options and I’m not going to try to reinvent the wheel, so to keep this short I chose American Racing Mojave Teflon wheels. They are black wheels and, in my opinion, they are the best thing since sliced bread. No cleaning is required and on my Toyota Tundra truck they fit the 17×8 6-5.5 bolt pattern perfectly with 4.5 backspacing that makes my BFG 285/70/17 tires fit straight with the outer flares. Plus, the 4.5 backspacing keeps the tires from hitting the upper control arm.

Hi, it’s Marcos again. Last year I visited a Toyota dealership for an oil change and it dawned on me that I needed tubular steps. Since installing the Pro Comp front 1-1/2 inch leveling kit, I have been putting so much stress on my bucket seat that I have cracked the plastic right side frame panel, because I lean all my weight as I exit the truck.

How to Install and Use a Hypertech Max Energy Programmer

Hypertech has come out with their Max Energy unit. This unit only takes 5 minutes to install and comes with very easy-to-follow instructions. It’s all either Yes or No answers. For example, it asks if you would like to change your shift points. All you do is press either Y or N.

Some of the features it has are really cool. I was able to change my tire size to correct my speedometer, adjust top speed, and fine tune the rev limiter. There are also features for your axles, tire rating, and trouble code reader. That means if you have a check engine light it will not only tell you what the problem is, but it also clears the code for you. It gives you 2 power settings: 87 Octane and High Performance. I must mention that if you load the high performance tuning you must run 91 and up octane fuel only.

OK, so I finally put an exhaust system on my truck. It took me a while to find one but I am glad that I did all my research first. As many of you know, I have pretty much all the bolt-on upgrades for my truck. The main concern that I had was that now I have a lot of exhaust fumes that need to exit the truck ASAP.
