Hi, it’s Marcos again. Last year I visited a Toyota dealership for an oil change and it dawned on me that I needed tubular steps. Since installing the Pro Comp front 1-1/2 inch leveling kit, I have been putting so much stress on my bucket seat that I have cracked the plastic right side frame panel, because I lean all my weight as I exit the truck. With all the upgrades done I noticed that I was getting stuck more frequently, so a winch was the next logical step and I decided on the Mile Marker Sl12000 electric winch (MIL76-50152).
I installed the winch in the rear, since my off-roading includes a lot of mud bogging. I utilized the hidden hitch, which was already on my truck, and fabricated a mount for the winch along with D-ring mounts for anchor points. Having the winch gave me peace of mind so that I wouldn’t have to rely on and/or hope that someone could pull me out! This is truly a must have in order to pull yourself out of a jam. If you can’t spring the cash for a winch, then having a recovery strap is a must-have accessory, such as the Pro Comp recovery strap (exp430000).
Hypertech has come out with their Max Energy unit. This unit only takes 5 minutes to install and comes with very easy-to-follow instructions. It’s all either Yes or No answers. For example, it asks if you would like to change your shift points. All you do is press either Y or N.
Some of the features it has are really cool. I was able to change my tire size to correct my speedometer, adjust top speed, and fine tune the rev limiter. There are also features for your axles, tire rating, and trouble code reader. That means if you have a check engine light it will not only tell you what the problem is, but it also clears the code for you. It gives you 2 power settings: 87 Octane and High Performance. I must mention that if you load the high performance tuning you must run 91 and up octane fuel only.
If you are like me, sometimes you forget to change your oil every 3,000 miles, so I make sure I use the best product to ensure my engine is protected when I do go beyond 3,000 miles. I use Royal Purple synthetic oil with the K&N Performance Gold Oil Filter.
I have been using Royal Purple in my F-150 for the last three years. I choose Royal Purple for the superior protection. What I gain besides the protection is a noticeably smoother idle, added performance with quicker throttle response, and a fuel mileage increase. Read more
In the race to manufacture parts for the latest and greatest, some of the older diesels like the Ford 7.3L are often overlooked when it comes to after market parts. Not to worry, we carry a wide variety of modifications and air flow improvements, including the intake manifold we have replaced here. As the video mentions, the stock cast unit is one piece, and transfers heat from the turbo outlet to the supposedly cooler intake air. The new two piece design separates the two, while increasing air flow and density. This particular brand is currently not available online, but feel free to contact me in regards to this excellent upgrade.
I started lifting trucks when I was 17 in my parents’ driveway. I started with a 1991 Ranger, installing a 6-inch Superlift kit and 3-inch body lift with 35-inch tires. I then sold that and graduated to an ’86 Toyota. I put about 12 inches of lift on it with 39.5-inch boggers.
My desire for a full size truck put me in my current truck: an F-150. It has a 6-inch Pro Comp lift with Bilstein shocks in the front and Rancho RS9000 Reservoirs in the rear. I went with Pro Comp for the solid reputation of reliability, since the truck is also my daily driver. I added a 3-inch Performance Accessories body lift because I had to have 37-inch tires. I see so many trucks with 35-inch tires and I wanted to stand out a little.
OK, so I finally put an exhaust system on my truck. It took me a while to find one but I am glad that I did all my research first. As many of you know, I have pretty much all the bolt-on upgrades for my truck. The main concern that I had was that now I have a lot of exhaust fumes that need to exit the truck ASAP.

My 1992 Chevy K1500, has been my continuing project since 1996. I started out with the usual upgrades including an aftermarket exhaust, headers, and cold-air intake but I was looking for ways to complement the initial upgrades. After doing some research, I realized that my next step would be a fuel pressure regulator (JET 61500) with a fuel pressure gauge (T/D 2388) and TBI spacer (T/D 2733). Bumping the fuel pressure up to 13 really opened up the bottom end.
Ever been in your truck somewhere at night and needed to read something, only to turn on the dome light and realize you still can’t see a thing? I discovered this oddity last weekend while on the side of a dark mountain road coming back from a friend’s house.
