The automotive aftermarket industry descended on the Las Vegas Convention Center for the 47th SEMA Show November 4-7. The annual trade event showcasing aftermarket products is bigger than ever and has expanded into the Westgate Las Vegas to accommodate numerous industry events and awards presentations. It reflects the state of the industry where affordable gas prices and a healthy overall economy is spelling brisk business for nearly all sectors of the aftermarket world.

“There were a lot of JKs and they seemed to be the focus at this year’s SEMA Show,” says Brandon Hood, 4 Wheel Parts/4WD Merchandising and Product Manager. “The Transamerican Manufacturing Group booth was constantly packed and Rubicon Express launched their coilover conversion kit for JKs while G2 debuted its new locker and air-actuated sway bar.”

Pro Comp also had a major presence at the TMG booth, where the company unveiled their latest parts and accessories on truck and Jeep builds. Transamerican Wholesale displayed the customized 2014 Jeep JK 2 door that they are teaming up with Superchips to give away.

Other 4×4/off-road highlights were Ford showcasing their F-150 truck with a 3.5-liter Ecoboost engine and countless modifications designed with off-road racer Brian Deegan. Additionally, they had a custom F-150 capable of taking on off-road and on road challenges via a suspension system with a full foot of travel from Kibbetech King and Air Lift Performance. Another modified vehicle was Toyota’s Slayer Scion tC, featuring airbrushed skulls and a demonic exterior aesthetic fused with an interior devoted to audio and stacked with speakers and guitar jacks.

The SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show, started as the Speed Equipment Manufacturer’s Association to promote hotrod culture. It has evolved into the leading automotive specialty products trade show in the world for industry vendors to share and see the latest parts and accessories.
