EcoTrek Chevy Silverado 1500 – Outfitted by Pro Comp
August 10th, 2010 by Tom Holm
EcoTrek designs research, rescue and recovery vehicles used to preserve threatened ecosystems and assist in disaster relief.
ProComp and 4Wheel Parts helped us put together our current Chevy Silverado 1500, which will tow our Airstream Trailer “command center” to such sites as the Everglades and Yellowstone for site and animal protection campaigns.
Since we’ll be towing the Airsteam Trailer thousands of miles, and then often leaving the pavement, we had to design a versatile truck. So, 4Wheel Parts installed a ProComp 6″ suspension lift, light bar/lights and ProComp wheels and tires – both made from recyclable materials. They also added G2 gears to assist with towing and fuel efficiency.
Other upgrades include a Vortech Supercharger, AMP PowerSteps, Line-X liner, Katzkin interior, Bushwacker Fender Flares, On-board Airaid onboard compressor by Mac’s Springs, Firestone Airbags, extra Optima batteries, Yakima racks, a BedRug and a very versatile ARE “camper shell” that provides protection, shelter and security for our crew and equipment.
This vehicle will be powered by cellulosic ethanol, a fuel made in America from waste (non-food) plant material. It will also be displayed at major car/truck shows, used in a national alternative fuel education program and seen in several TV shows.

Great looking truck!! What kind of light bar and lights were used on the truck? Are the parts available through 4wheelparts? If so can you provide part numbers and prices? I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 4×4 and would really like that set up or something very similar on my truck.
