Custom Concepts Go Public at Easter Jeep SafariApril 16th, 2014 by David Beran
The annual Easter Jeep Safari spans from April 12 – April 20, 2014 and Chrysler is in Moab, Utah showcasing their new crop of Jeep concept vehicles. Internet message boards are buzzing with opinions about the six concepts: the Wrangler Level Red, Wrangler Maximum Performance, Wrangler MOJO, Cherokee Dakar, Cherokee Adventurer, and Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior.
Each model will have distinctive Moab “Badge of Honor” trail sports badges as a tribute to the gathering.
Chrysler knows its core audience is a captive one at Moab and they’re hitting them with a feast of features. It’s hard to know which ones will show up in production, but these outfitted rigs give enthusiasts plenty of Jeep parts to marvel at and debate about.
Wrangler Level Red – A licorice black exterior includes TorRed graphics and 17-inch beadlock wheels with BFGoodrich Mud Terrains. The Level Red runs a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a modest 2-inch lift kit is complemented by rock rails and a tire carrier.
Wrangler Maximum Performance – Targeting the extreme crowd, this model boasts a 4-inch lift kit and mammoth 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires perched on prototype eight-lug beadlock wheels. Chrysler has thrown in a Stinger front bumper, rock rails, skid plates, and flattop fenders.
Wrangler MOJO – Jeep has their mojo working overtime with this orange and black concept built for crawling. It includes higher clearance fenders to accommodate 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrains, a set of LED headlamps and fog lamps and revamped front bumper.
Cherokee Dakar – Flame red graphics accent the sleek silver exterior and the interior features Matzkin leather black seats with header red stitching. Aggressive 33-inch mud tires are paired with Trailhawk 17-inch wheels with a polished Satin clear coat.
Cherokee Adventurer – Catering to the adventurous off-roader, there’s roof storage in the form of a prototype black Mopar roof basket including a bungee net to secure gear. Trailhawk skid plates protect the underside and the Adventurer has interior upgrades including bright Cherokee-logo door sill guards, a Moab off-road bag, and all-weather mats.
Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior – Sporting a Quadra-Lift air suspension, the Trail Warrior rides high atop 20-inch wheels and All-Terrain BF Goodrich tires. A black and sand exterior is paired with a two tone black and tan interior scheme.
